Carry
your sponsorship form with you at all times! You never know who
you will bump into |
|
·
|
Make
sure people know what you are doing and why - publicity is key. |
|
·
|
Tell
people about the charity! Our literature gives an idea of our vital
work. |

|
It's
a great idea to approach the most generous people first; often future
sponsors will follow their lead! |
|

|
Don't
be shy to ask people to sponsor your event, the worst they can say
is no! |

E-fundraising
is a great way to reach all your family and friends to tell them
about your sponsored event. They can even make the donation on-line
via our secure server. The BDD Foundation can set up an on-line
sponsorship page for you. There is a downside to this method - it
is easier for potential sponsors to say no if you are not talking
face to face with them. |

|
Always
ask sponsors to tick the 'Gift Aid' box; for every £1 donated
by all tax paying sponsors, the government (at no extra cost to
the individual) will donate 28p. |
|

|
Don't
forget to ask your employer to sponsor you; many companies will
match the amount you raise. You could invite colleagues to donate
by placing an advert on your company notice board/intranet. |
